What's Wrong With Elementary Schools?

A couple of days ago, I was asked what I thought was wrong in our nation's elementary schools. Although I spend a great deal of time wondering about how to improve teaching and learning, I had never considered the question from that perspective. I guess I'm a glass half full kind of gal. Yet after thinking about this over the past few days, I think that many of the challenges facing our nation's elementary schools are the same ones facing our secondary schools.

Aloha Lisa!

It's Arleen (aka Devastator). Just dropping by with my little hello. My mind is still swimming in the experiences we had at HTH. I can't stop thinking about what a meaningful learning experience we had and how I wish my whole staff could have been there, too. We're in the "What's next?" phase today; we are going to share our reflections with our leadership team this afternoon.

Cheers to an awesome week!

Aloha Lisa,
I have a question about the itouch. If you have photos etc. can you go straight to projection or do you need a lap top?
As always, many thanks,
JoAnn

Hi Lisa,
Hope your inservicing went well. Thank you so much for inviting me but between school and my husband's health issues it was impossible. I know you did a Skype with Jason Ohler on digital storytelling. I'm currently reading the book and was wondering if you had any notes or additional information you could share with me. I love his ideas and I find them to be so important. He continually brings across the point that tech assists the curriculum and does not drive it. Looking forward to seeing you in San Diego and hopefully visit you school sometime this school year.

Hi Lisa, I just emailed you. I am looking forward to doing some collaborations and, as I mentioned in my email, we are thinking of trying to host some kind of edu-tech conference, so perhaps there will be some opportunity there.
